ReToU — an emotion diary

Once a day, stamp how you feel.

Pick today's emotion and leave a single line — a seal is stamped on hanji paper for the day. You can only write once a day, which makes each entry count.

Why

Why once a day?

ReToU is time set aside to face your feelings. Like pressing a seal once a day, the one-entry rule protects the steadiness — and the weight — of each record.

So a single entry means more. Instead of writing quickly and often, you look back on the day slowly and leave it as one seal.

Design

Hanji and emotion seals

Five traditional pigments

  • Joy · Gardenia
  • Weary · Gromwell
  • Even · Deep green
  • Sorrow · Indigo
  • Anger · Rouge

You write on hanji — traditional Korean paper with visible mulberry fibers and screen patterns. Each day's seal is pressed at the end of your writing like a classical signature stamp, tilting slightly each time, like a real hand-pressed seal.

Words that hold feelings are set in serif; words you operate with are set in sans. The whole screen becomes a single sheet of hanji, in one soft ivory theme.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I write more than once a day?

No — ReToU allows one entry per day. Like pressing a seal once a day, this keeps each record steady and meaningful.

Can I edit an entry?

Yes. Tap the day's seal in the Trace calendar, then use the edit button on the detail screen to change the emotion and text freely.

Can I delete an entry?

Yes, from the detail screen. Deleted entries cannot be recovered, so choose carefully.

Can I back up and restore my data?

Yes, from v2.0. Entries back up automatically to the iCloud of the Apple account signed in on your device — install the app on a new phone and your records return. No sign-up needed. You can also export a CSV file from Settings > Data.

How do I set up the lock?

Settings > Lock. Unlock with Face ID, with a diary-only 6-digit passcode as fallback. It's separate from your device passcode, so your diary stays private even on a shared phone.

Won't a daily notification feel like pressure?

You choose the time, and the reminder is never sent on days you've already written. You can turn it off anytime in Settings.
